린단과 리총웨이는 배드민턴계의 ‘리오넬 메시’와 ‘크리스티아누 호날두’로 불린다. 린단은 두 번의 올림픽 금메달(2008·2012)과 다섯 번의 세계선수권 우승을 달성했고, 리총웨이는 세 차례 올림픽 은메달과 세 번의 세계선수권 은메달을 차지했다. 하지만 이들조차 슈퍼 1000과 750 전 대회를 정복하지는 못했다.
